Okay, so the movie came out 2 years ago and apparently wasn't what wonderful to some people. I saw it at a friend's house and was unable to pay complete attention.
Although, I have just read the book and it is amazing! The main character, Lyra, is so brave and intelligent and daring and cunning and she's 11. And there is so much detail and so much that happens in terms of plot that you just can't stop turning the pages. I'm now on book two. You should read them - they're amazing.
